This Christmas Vacation

This Christmas vacation was truly memorable and filled with joy from start to finish. The preparations began early, as my family and I came together to decorate the house with care and excitement. Twinkling lights framed the windows, while a beautifully adorned Christmas tree stood as the centerpiece of our living room, glowing with ornaments collected over the years. Holiday music played softly in the background as we laughed, reminisced, and created new memories while decorating. The house felt warm and inviting, setting the perfect mood for the festivities to come.  

On Christmas Day, the magic truly unfolded. My family and I gathered around a table filled with delicious food, including traditional dishes that made the day even more special. Exchanging thoughtful gifts brought so much joy, not because of the items themselves, but because of the love and effort that went into choosing them. The room was filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and a sense of togetherness that made the holiday unforgettable. The rest of the vacation was spent enjoying the simple pleasures watching festive movies, relaxing by the light of the Christmas tree, and sharing quiet moments with loved ones. It was a season that reminded me of the importance of family, gratitude, and appreciating the little things in life, making it an experience I’ll always cherish.

  This quarter in ICT 10, I have been working on HTML tags and websites designing. It was interesting to see how different tags like  <h1>  for headers,  <p>  for paragraphs, and  <img>  for pictures are used for the layout of the web page. Creating web pages also helped me appreciate how information has to be arranged and syntax used. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of tags and their attributes that were required to be learned, but with time and practice, I was able to improve. This particular experience has provided me with an amazing experience in web development and made me excited towards building more complex and attractive pages in the future.

Initiatives and Laws to Prevent Violence Against Women

Violence Against Women (VAW) is one of the major global problems, a global problem that cuts across borders and civilizations including in the Philippines. Based on the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey, almost one out of five Filipino women has been subjected to emotional, physical, or sexual violence from a partner. Such statistics is a concerning factor as VAW needs to be addressed because it is not only a gross violation of human rights of women but also engenders a society that is characterized by violence, inequalities and backwardness. Internationally and in the Philippines, several programs and legal mandates have been established to address VAW and assist the victims. One of these is the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women which is held every year and aims to sensitize and advocate against VAW.
